Spicy Halloween Doughnut Recipe

What is Halloween without some treats? To help us get ready for Halloween, we asked Francesca aka. The Female Glaze to share with us her delicious Chai & Hazelnut Activated Charcoal doughnuts! They’re vegan AND features our Spicy Chai syrup - let’s get baking!
INGREDIENTS:
DOUGHNUTS
125g plain flour
80g sugar
1tsp baking powder
1tsp activated charcoal
2tbs NEMI Teas Chai Syrup
1tsp lemon juice
160ml soy milk
30g melted vegan butter
40g ground hazelnuts
ICING
60g white chocolate
2tsp activated charcoal
METHOD:
Mix flour, sugar and baking powder in a large bowl. Mix soy milk, chai syrup and lemon juice in a separate bowl and let it rest for a few minutes until it resembles buttermilk. Mix everything together and add melted butter and activated charcoal. Once the batter is ready, add hazelnuts.
Pour into doughnut moulds. Bake for 22 minute at 180°. Allow doughnuts to cool down before the next step.
For the icing, microwave 45g of white chocolate until melted. Add the rest of the white chocolate and mix well. Add activated charcoal. Dip doughnuts in melted dyed chocolate and let them settle for 30 minutes.
