Our Blends & How to Brew Them
Our Blends & How to Brew Them
We offer a range of blends with their own unique flavours and benefits. Read on to find out more about them, as well as how to make the perfect cup of tea (in our opinion).
There’s something for everyone in our range of organic teas.
English Breakfast is our classic black tea and is delicious with or without milk. Meanwhile, our Green Tea is rich in antioxidants and is proven to boost brain function!
Peppermint is one of our most popular blends and doesn’t contain tea leaves, but 100% peppermint leaf instead. We’ve carefully-assembled a mix of European, Egyptian and American peppermint to create the perfect balance of refreshing minty coolness. There are multiple benefits to drinking peppermint tea and it is often recommended for relieving stress and pain.
Our Spicy Chai is our signature blend, and is a secret recipe passed down through generations to our Founder, Pranav. Along with our organic-certified black tea, we’ve added cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and peppercorn to make our Spicy Chai a warming cup of sweet spicy goodness.
Our Earl Grey blend is made by blending our Rwandan black tea with bergamot oil, giving it an aromatic flavour. We also add blue cornflower petals for an extra hint of floral.
Lemongrass & Ginger is a little bit like an elixir - it’s full of goodness and helps you to feel revived. Lemongrass is rich in antioxidants, whilst ginger helps to aid digestion and is believed to relieve nausea.
For something different, try our Cardamom Chai blend, rich in aromatic flavour!
How to Brew Tea
We recommend brewing your teas in a teapot to retain taste and flavour - but mugs are also fine. You’ll find individual instructions with brewing times on each tube or pack.
-> English Breakfast / Earl Grey
British people have put milk in their tea since the 1600s, an idea which was introduced to protect their fine bone china tea sets from the boiling hot tea. Now, we rely on milk to give our black teas a less bitter taste - as the proteins in the milk bind to the tannins present in the tea.
Using freshly boiled water from the kettle, steep your teabag in your pot or mug for 3-5 minutes before adding a milk of your choosing to the cup. Enjoy with your favourite biscuits and your feet up!
-> Peppermint Tea / Green Tea / Lemongrass & Ginger
Brew for 4-6 mins in 90deg water.
-> Spicy Chai / Cardamom Chai
For an authentic cup of Chai, put four teaspoons of our loose-leaf blend into half a litre of boiling water and continue to boil for five minutes. Add 250ml of milk and sweeten with sugar (or if you prefer honey, add it at the very end). Bring to the boil again, then take off heat and let sit for five minutes. Pour through a strainer to serve (makes four cups).
All of our teas are made to be savoured and enjoyed. Tell us your favourite blend and how you like to make it below!
